The Lithium-ion Fire Extinguisher (Stored Pressure) by Viaan uses AVD (Aqueous Vermiculite Dispersion), a cutting-edge extinguishing agent specifically designed for lithium-ion battery fires. When applied as a mist, AVD not only extinguishes the fire but also prevents its re-ignition and the propagation of heat.

How AVD Work
  • AVD is a water-based dispersion containing chemically exfoliated vermiculite.
  • When sprayed as a fine mist, it quickly cools the fire and forms a non-flammable, oxygen-resistant film over the burning surface.
  • The vermiculite platelets overlap and bind, creating a barrier that isolates the fuel source from the surrounding atmosphere.
  • As the water content evaporates, a cooling effect is produced, and the vermiculite layers accumulate to effectively bring the fire under control.
